The Classified Guys'
column has helped The Brazosport Facts (Clute, TX) generate $13,000 in new
advertising. The column was anchored to the top of page one in the classified
section. A two-inch by nine column advertising space, located just below the
column, was sectioned into five small display ads. Each premium ad space was
sold to small advertisers generating a total of $250 per week.
This
technique has allowed a publication of 21,000 to generate substantial
advertising revenue. With success under their belt and the column now an
anchored feature, they are considering moving it within the classified section
to drive readership where needed. The Classified Guys will be advertised on the
front page of the classifieds to let readers know where the column can be read
each week. |
